Memories !

Down the memory lane ,

After many multiples of 365 days have passed ,

Among thousands of hipocampus cells holding memories ,

With long lost promises to for ever last .

A passing ride through a vaguely familiar route ,

Taking you back to casual walks and exchanged phone numbers .

A day when the angry clouds gently spew their essence on earth ,

Will trigger a reminiscence of journey huddled under an umbrella .

An evening when the sun kisses goodbye to the sky ,

Opens up the memory of a forgotten evening of shared thoughts ,

In the company of the wind playing truant.

A stray tune ,

Taking you back to moments of floating in melodic sea ,

With shared headphones and unspoken words .

The sound of sea waves ,

Competing with each other to reach the shore ,

Reminds of turned up pants ,

Exchanged smiles and collected sea shells stowed back somewhere .

The fragrance of familiar perfume ,

Among a sea of unfamiliar faces ,

Reliving warm greetings and bear hugs .

Lingering tastes on gustatory buds ,

Bringing back snatches of whispered conversations over food ,

And fabrics stained with bits of chocolate and vanilla .

In the travel back in time ,

Over the wall of indifference ,

Creeps a wide grin lights up your face ,

Reminding you of my presence with you always through the ever present MEMORIES .
